The Biomedical Engineering (BME) Department at Carnegie Mellon University is renowned for its interdisciplinary approach to solving complex healthcare challenges. Located within CMU's College of Engineering, the department emphasizes the integration of engineering principles with biomedical sciences to address pressing medical and biological issues. The department is characterized by its focus on creating impactful technologies and therapies that improve patient care and advance biomedical innovation globally.

The Biomedical Engineering (BME) Department at Carnegie Mellon University is seeking a Research Associate that will work with multi-modal data, acquired on humans with non-invasive optical, electrical, and ultrasound instruments, requires recruitment of human subjects. The position is focused on recruiting human subjects, help with data collection, learning basics of the instruments used in experiments, making sure data collection adheres to IRB rules.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for data collection
  • Responsible for interacting with various research groups for data collection with various instruments
  • Responsible for interacting with human subjects and obtaining informed consent

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • College degree in a STEM field
  • Has performed research in a biomedical lab for at least 1 summer or worked on human subject measurements, including recruitment, for at least 1 year.
  • A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
