Carnegie Hill Neighbors (“CHN”) is a 501c3 organization which preserves and enhances the historic Carnegie Hill neighborhood in NYC to create a welcoming and vibrant community where residents and local businesses thrive. Along with twenty-eight individually landmarked buildings, over 50 percent of Carnegie Hill has historic designation status. Our work includes preserving and promoting the neighborhood’s historic character, caring for green spaces, promoting safety, and building community. Carnegie Hill is famous for livability and a high concentration of young families and older adults aging in place. The streets are safe, clean, and green with an array of small local businesses.
The Role
Carnegie Hill Neighbors seeks a highly organized and detail-oriented DonorPerfect Database Manager to oversee our donor and membership database. Donor Perfect is a trademarked fundraising software solution for nonprofit organizations. This newly-created position is ideal for a self-starter who enjoys working with data, improving systems, and ensuring smooth daily operations within a small, collaborative team. The DonorPerfect Database Manager will be responsible for maintaining data integrity, cleaning prior years’ data as needed, spotting and fixing glitches in the system, engaging with staff on proper tagging, and generating reports and lists for mailings, appeals, and stewardship efforts.
The DonorPerfect Database Manager reports to the Development & Communications Deputy Director and works in collaboration with the Operations and Finance Managers.
Key Responsibilities
Database Management & Data Integrity
- Maintain and update donor and membership records in DonorPerfect, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all fields and transactions.
- Regularly review, clean, and merge duplicate records to uphold data quality and accuracy.
- Manage coding systems (solicitation codes, campaigns, funds, and appeals) and maintain standardized naming conventions.
Gift Processing
- Coordinate with finance staff to reconcile donations monthly and ensure proper tracking for reporting and audits.
Reporting & Analytics
- Create reports for fundraising, membership, event participation, and campaign analysis.
- Identify trends and insights within donor and membership data—such as new donor acquisition, renewal rates, retention, average gift size, and giving frequency—to inform strategy and strengthen engagement.
- Support annual and year-end reporting, including membership renewals and appeal summaries.
Communications & Integration
- Manage online donation and membership forms, ensuring seamless data flow.
- Work with Communications team on membership drives, appeals, and newsletters.
- Support the communications team with segmentation for targeted outreach.
- Provide occasional staff training and documentation on DonorPerfect best practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience managing DonorPerfect.
- Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Familiarity with nonprofit fundraising and membership models.
- Comfortable in a small-team environment where collaboration and flexibility are key
- Strong proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data cleaning).
Salary: $25 per hour, 5-8 hours per week. Negotiable.
Part-time, on-site in New York City.
