Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented, and motivated individual to join our apprenticeship program in the Hartford County Connecticut area. This is a one-year role that will provide candidates with experience in all aspects of the funeral process. Working with a highly trained team of over 25 licensed funeral directors, our program is designed to provide experience with embalming/casketing/cosmetology, at-need arranging/funeral services, and cremation services. This allows apprentices to meet the state requirements while gaining experience and exposure to all aspects of the funeral process. Our footprint covers a large demographic of people allowing apprentices the opportunity to learn and experience the funeral process across various cultures and traditions.
Qualifications:
- Must have met the education requirements to become a Licensed Funeral Director in the state of Connecticut, and have passed 1 or both parts of the licensing exam before starting.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle emotionally difficult situations with empathy and composure.
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with company dress standards
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Experience working in a funeral home environment preferred but not required.
- Able to pass a drug test, including marijuana, and background check
