Job Description
We are seeking a Mobile Equipment Mechanic 1 to join our Operations team at Carmeuse Lime and Stone in Luttrell, TN. This role involves learning and performing maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment and light vehicles, ensuring our operations run smoothly. There is room to advance in this position and work into a Mobile Maintenance Technician. Your responsibilities will include performing preventive maintenance, basic troubleshooting and repairs, as well as learning advanced skills.
Qualifications
Must have a minimum of 2 years equipment maintenance and repair experience
Must be able to read and write
Must be competent to learn to evaluate ground safety conditions
Must have some knowledge of cutting and welding
Must be able to pass the entry level mechanic assessment
Working Conditions
Must be able to walk over rough terrain, stoop, reach, climb, kneel, and carry up to 60 pounds.
Position includes work in underground mine involving low light, diesel emissions, dust, noise, and humidity
Positions includes work outdoors involving temperature extremes, dust, noise, and humidity
Regular attendance is required. Overtime may be required as determined by management
Duties and Responsibilities
Learn to perform preventative maintenance on heavy equipment and light vehicles.
Perform basic mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic trouble-shooting and repairs to light vehicles and heavy equipment.
Learn to cut and weld proficiently
Learn to operate equipment for troubleshooting purposes
Basic knowledge and understanding of parts manuals, service manuals and how to write part orders.
Basic knowledge and understanding of how to read hydraulic, electrical schematic drawings and be able to troubleshoot problems from the schematics.
Responsible for shop vehicles, tools, and equipment condition, appearance and cleanliness.
Perform work place exams, equipment safety checks, write work orders, and fill out production reports
Participate in any training that may be required to improve job performance or operating efficiency.
Communicate problem areas to management and co-workers.
Other duties as assigned by management

Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance on heavy equipment and light vehicles.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on various vehicles.
Learn and develop cutting and welding skills for equipment maintenance.
Operate equipment for troubleshooting purposes, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
Maintain basic knowledge of parts manuals, service manuals, and parts ordering processes.
Understand and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematic drawings for troubleshooting.
Ensure the cleanliness, organization, and proper storage of shop tools and equipment.
Follow safety protocols and guidelines at all times during maintenance and repair work.
Communicate effectively with the maintenance team and provide updates on equipment status.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Basic mechanical knowledge and a willingness to learn and develop skills.
Ability to read and interpret basic technical manuals and drawings.
Familiarity with hand and power tools commonly used in vehicle maintenance.
Physical ability to perform tasks that may require lifting, climbing, and working in various positions.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of work.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Willingness to undergo training and obtain any necessary certifications.
