The Role

Carmel Point Landscapes is seeking a creative, highly organized Landscape Designer to join our growing team. We specialize in high-end residential design and construction, and we are looking for a professional who balances design artistry with technical precision and strong organizational skills.

In this role, you will be responsible for bringing luxury outdoor spaces to life—developing projects from initial concept through comprehensive, buildable plans, while maintaining proactive communication with our clients and ensuring every project is delivered on time, within budget, and to our exacting standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design & Technical Execution: Create comprehensive, buildable residential landscape plans ready for construction and municipal permitting. This includes drafting precise construction details, curated planting palettes, and integrated irrigation and lighting plans.
  • Design Project Coordination: Keep your own design projects organized, ensuring concepts, revisions, and permit packages move smoothly through the pipeline to meet established deadlines.
  • Client Relationship Management: Act as a primary point of contact during the design phase. Present design concepts, provide consistent updates, manage expectations, and maintain diligent, professional follow-ups.
  • Field Collaboration: Partner with our construction teams to review design intent, answer technical questions during the build, and ensure the final installation flawlessly matches your specifications.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 2 years of professional experience in a residential landscape architecture or design-build firm.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent time management with the ability to keep multiple design projects on schedule and organized.
  • Communication: A natural communicator who excels at building rapport with clients and coordinating effectively with internal teams.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expert proficiency in AutoCAD and Land F/X. Strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite and 3D modeling (SketchUp/Lumion).
