Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Assisted Living Caregiver to provide exceptional support and care to residents in a senior living community. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine desire to enhance the quality of life for older adults, demonstrating patience, empathy, and professionalism. As an Assisted Living Caregiver, you will be responsible for assisting residents with daily activities, ensuring their safety and comfort, and fostering a warm, respectful environment that promotes independence and well-being.
This is a living in position. Compensation will be per day. Payment will be on 15 and 30 of the month.
Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Monitor residents’ vital signs and health status regularly, reporting any concerns to medical staff promptly.
- Provide medication administration assistance in accordance with care plans and protocols.
- Support residents with memory care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer's care, utilizing specialized techniques to ensure safety and comfort.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements while maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area.
- Engage residents in social activities and group programs to promote mental stimulation and social interaction.
- Follow infection control procedures, including cleaning resident areas and adhering to sanitation standards.
- Respond effectively to emergencies by executing first aid or CPR as needed, ensuring resident safety at all times.
- Monitor resident at night based on the schedule.
Skills
- Prior experience in assisted living or long-term care environments is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of assisting with ADLs, medication administration, and dementia or memory care techniques.
- Familiarity with nursing home practices, geriatrics, and working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach towards residents’ needs.
- Knowledge of health monitoring procedures including vital signs measurement.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team setting.
- Valid CPR and First Aid certification; ongoing training in behavior management or social work is advantageous.
- Capable of managing cleaning duties within resident areas to ensure a hygienic environment.
