Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, excellent chairside manners, and proficiency in various dental technologies.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed, while adhering to safety standards.
- Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant information in electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft.
- Manage patient flow and assist with scheduling appointments, including follow-ups for pediatric dentistry cases.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and assist with medical coding when necessary.
- Operate dental equipment including 3D scanners and ensure proper maintenance of tools and instruments.
- Collaborate with the dental receptionist to manage patient records efficiently.
Experience
Candidates should possess:
- Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred, particularly in general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, or pediatrics.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices is essential.
- Proficiency in chairside assisting techniques and understanding of dental terminology is required.
- Experience with medical imaging and vital signs monitoring is a plus.
