Assistant Director of Nursing - Aiken

Carlyle Senior Care of Aiken is looking for a compassionate, energetic RN to join our team as the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON). The Assistant Director of Nursing is responsible for assisting the Director of Nursing in assessing resident care needs and implementing appropriate action. The Assistant Director of Nursing is also responsible for planning, organizing and assisting in directing the overall operation of our Nursing Services Department in accordance with current Federal, State and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern our facility, and as may be directed by the Director of Nursing and Administrator, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.

ADON Primary Responsibilities:

1. Directing, evaluating and supervising the day-to-day functions of the nursing staff.
2. Implement and maintain established nursing objectives and standards, supervise nursing care provided to residents, and assure adequate staffing to provide nursing care.
3. Complete and maintain medical forms, reports, evaluations, charts, etc and submit to appropriate offices and departments for processing.
4. Admit, transfer and discharge residents as required.
5. Assure that all nursing service personnel are performing their respective duties in accordance with written policies, procedures and manuals.
6. Participate in surveys and inspections by government agencies as necessary.
7. Make reports and recommendations to the Director of Nursing and Administrator concerning operations of the department.
8. Participate in the orientation of new residents and family members.
9. Make daily resident rounds and report status of nursing care to the Director of Nursing and Administrator.
10. Assist with analysis of incident and accident investigation reports to determine cause(s) and implement corrective action(s) when appropriate.
11. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and conferences.
12. Establish open lines of communication between all nursing personnel and consistently take follow-up action as necessary.
13. Consistently work cooperatively with residents, resident representatives, facility staff, physicians, consultants and ancillary service providers. 

ADON Physical Job Requirements:

To fulfill job requirements, the employee must be able to perform key physical tasks for extended periods of time.  When supporting, lifting or transferring residents, proper body mechanics and safety measures as prescribed by the facility must be used. The employee must also have a valid driver’s license.

In a typical day, employee must be able to:

1. Stand/walk up to eight hours a day
2. Sit up to four hours a day
3. Frequently support up to 30 pounds
4. Occasionally lift/carry up to 20 pounds
5. Frequently kneel, bend, and reach
