Carlsen Precision Manufacturing, located in Rome, Georgia, is an expansion of Larsen & Shaw Limited, a successful family-owned business with over 100 years of manufacturing excellence. We are a leading manufacturer of high-quality continuous hinges, architectural products, custom metal stampings, and laser-cut components.
We are currently seeking a Press Operator to join our team. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Press Operator is responsible for operating metal stamping presses and producing quality parts in a safe and efficient manner. A full job description is available upon request.
Position Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Shift: Day Shift, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate metal stamping presses to produce parts according to specifications and established procedures.
- Assist in Production, Plating, and Shipping departments as required.
- Produce quality parts with minimal supervision while following standard operating procedures.
- Meet established production standards, including run times, setup times, and work center uptime goals.
- Utilize die sensing technology, automation, and other equipment to maximize productivity, including attending multiple presses or operating unattended processes when appropriate.
- Read and interpret drawings and specifications to ensure accurate part production.
- Perform in-process inspections and complete first-piece inspections and documentation.
- Follow work orders, operating procedures, and special instructions accurately.
- Make minor machine adjustments as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Report raw material and process non-conformances to the supervisor and participate in corrective action activities.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment.
Qualifications & Skills
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow established work processes.
- Basic computer skills.
- A positive attitude and desire to grow with the company.
- Willingness to learn and contribute in a team-oriented environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous press operation experience is considered an asset.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
