Job Summary
- Assists therapists in providing specially prescribed treatments and procedures, in accordance with New Mexico Practice Act guidelines.
- Performs administrative, cleaning and restocking tasks related to the efficient operation of the Clinic.
General Accountabilities
- Follows established facility procedures pertaining to the care of equipment, maintaining their good working order, calibration and aseptic technique.
- Prepares, maintains, and cleans treatment areas; Maintains supportive areas.
- Stocks supplies; Participates in the periodic inventory of supplies.
- Assists patients as necessary in preparation for, during, and at the conclusion of treatment; Assembles and prepares equipment and accessories in preparation of treatment; Disassembles at conclusion.
- Observes patients during treatments and reports responses to treatments to therapist.
- Assists in treatment procedures and administers modalities predetermined for each patient/client by and under the supervision of a licensed therapist and/or therapist assistant.
- Responds to the patient needs and requests. Encourages feedback and communication.
- Complies with Clinic policies and procedures and other regulatory standards; Executes practices as appropriate.
- Complies with professional, ethical, and legal standards.
- Ensures patient/client service and quality standards are met including patient/client interaction and cleanliness of facilities.
- Ensures professionalism standards of the facilities and staff are met and maintains professional image of the facilities.
- Participates in plans for continuous quality improvement regarding patient care, staff development and facility advancement.
- Complies with Clinic programs for functional outcomes and patient satisfaction.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
- Will follow written protocol/procedures for tasks. Will maintain up to date protocol/procedure for tasks.
Job Qualifications
- Minimum Education: None.
- Preferred Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum Experience: None.
- Preferred Experience: One year in training program or related field.
- Minimum Field of Expertise: None.
- Preferred Field of Expertise: Bilingual in Spanish.
Physical Demands
- Frequently required to sit and stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms.
- Carry 20 lbs.
- Push/pull 40 lbs.
- Lift: floor to waist 20 lbs.
- Lift: above shoulder 10 lbs.
- Frequently required to talk or hear.
- Frequently required to stoop, kneel or crouch.
