Arts Integration & Culture Program Specialist

ROLE SUMMARY:   The Arts Integration & Culture Program Specialist supports arts integration activities and cultural events across both CRIPCS campuses, working closely with students, faculty, community artists, and organizational partners. Reporting to the Arts Integration & Culture Program Manager, this role co-teaches arts integration lessons, coordinates logistics for school-wide events and festivals.

The Specialist plays a significant role in supporting cross-campus arts integration initiatives, while cultivating student and alumni artistic leadership and maintaining relationships with community artists and partner organizations. This role is grounded in two organizational priorities: strengthening academic excellence through culturally competent, student-centered programming — drawing on arts-integrated andragogy as an evidence-based approach to improving student outcomes — and deepening organizational health through collaborative cultural programming that invites the school community to co-design and embody the Carlos Rosarian Way and CRIPCS’s shared values.

CORE WORKSTREAMS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Arts Integration and Instruction

  • Co-teach arts integration lessons within project-based learning frameworks, aligning content with existing ESL (including ESL Arts), GED, and Spanish literacy curricula to enrich the classroom learning experience — applying arts-integrated andragogy as an evidence-based approach to improving student academic outcomes.
  • Support all cross-campus arts integration initiatives, ensuring consistent and high-quality delivery at both campuses.
  • Recruit and identify student and alumni talent for arts integration initiatives, both internally and externally.
  • Cultivate student and alumni leadership skills and artistic talents through arts and culture activities, extracurricular programming, and by serving as staff advisor for artistic student clubs in areas of expertise such as Art Club and Pride Club.
  • Support the Arts & Integration Program Manager in scouting independent contracting artists for hiring and complete contracts, invoices, check requests, vendor forms, and required documentation in coordination with General Counsel and the Finance department.

Events and Cultural Programming

  • Support the programming and logistics coordination for annual school-wide Multicultural Celebrations aligned to chosen themes, designing events that are culturally affirming, community-driven, and rooted in the Carlos Rosarian Way — creating opportunities for the school community to co-design and embody CRIPCS’s shared values.
  • Play an integral role in the planning and execution of special projects including graduation ceremonies, scholarship fundraisers, art exhibits, performances, and other events assigned by the Arts Integration and Culture Program Manager or members of executive leadership.
  • Coordinate field trip logistics, arts inventory purchases, and event supplies, ensuring timely communication and follow-through with relevant stakeholders across campuses.

Community and Partner Relations

  • Initiate, establish, and maintain relationships with student and alumni artists, visiting artists, performers, the Arts Committee, and community partner organizations.
  • Collaborate with departments across the organization — including Curriculum, Student Services, IT, and other program areas — to support school-wide goals and ensure arts and culture initiatives are well-integrated into the broader organizational community.

Administrative and Operational Support

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to arts programming, artist contracts, vendor forms, and inventory purchases in coordination with General Counsel and Finance.
  • Manage arts supply inventory and coordinate purchases, ensuring materials are available and well-maintained for programming at both campuses.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule, including availability for evening programming and split schedules, to support arts activities and events across both campuses.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Arts Integration and Culture Program Manager or members of executive leadership.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Arts Integration, Equity, and Mission: Passion for and knowledge of arts integration programming, research, and design; demonstrated ability to connect arts experiences to academic learning objectives in a multilingual adult education setting. Deep commitment to CRIPCS’s core values and DEIB principles, with a proven ability to interact respectfully and effectively with populations of diverse cultural, social, and economic backgrounds and to model these values in all relationships and programming.
  • Event Coordination and Adaptability: Proven ability to plan and execute cultural events and school-wide programming, managing logistics, timelines, and stakeholder coordination with attention to detail and follow-through; able to work independently and collaboratively, manage multiple concurrent responsibilities, and function effectively under pressure with flexibility and professionalism.
  • Relationship Building and Student Engagement: Demonstrated ability to initiate and sustain relationships with artists, community partners, student organizations, and advisory committees, and to serve as a liaison across campuses and departments; proven ability to engage and cultivate the artistic talents and leadership of adult immigrant learners, including experience as a staff advisor or mentor for student clubs or extracurricular activities.
  • Communication and Technology: Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills; able to communicate professionally and effectively with diverse audiences including students, faculty, community artists, and organizational leadership. Proficiency in Microsoft Office required, knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite a plus.
  • Bilingual Proficiency: Bilingual proficiency in Spanish, Amharic, or French preferred, given the linguistic diversity of CRIPCS’s student and staff community.
