Duties
- Operate grounds maintenance and landscaping equipment, including mowers, trimmers, power tools, and irrigation systems, ensuring efficient and safe performance.
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, edging, pruning, tree trimming, planting, and gardening to promote healthy growth and visual appeal.
- Identify various plants, trees, and shrubs to ensure proper care and pest management; apply pesticides responsibly following safety guidelines.
- Maintain hardscape features like pathways, patios, and retaining walls to ensure durability and safety.
- Assist with snow plowing during winter months to keep outdoor areas accessible and safe for clients or residents.
- Follow strict safety protocols during all outdoor activities to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Support irrigation system installation, repair, and maintenance to optimize water efficiency across landscapes.
Experience
- Proven outdoor work experience in grounds maintenance or landscaping roles with a strong understanding of horticulture principles.
- Mechanical knowledge related to landscape maintenance equipment operation and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, tree care, gardening, and hardscape upkeep.
- Familiarity with plant identification techniques and pest management practices using pesticides responsibly.
- Ability to operate power tools safely and efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
- Knowledge of irrigation systems installation, repair, and system management for healthy plant growth.
- Prior experience in snow plowing or winter outdoor maintenance is a plus.
