Job Summary
Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Optometric Technician/Assistant, where your enthusiasm and attention to detail will directly enhance patient care and streamline clinical operations. In this vital role, you will assist optometrists with pre-testing patients using specialized ophthalmic diagnostic equipments, and ensure a smooth flow of patient services. Your proactive approach will contribute to creating a welcoming environment while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills executing medical office procedures within a supportive team setting.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Prepare patients for eye examinations by collecting intake information and reviewing medical histories
  • Operate ophthalmic equipments including autorefractor, diagnostic imaging, visual fields and tonometry tools for intraocular pressure assessment
  • Maintain patient records accurately using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems while adhering to HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies
  • Keep exam rooms clean, sanitized, and stocked with supplies.
  • Check-in or check-out patients if the front desk is busy.

Requirements

  • Available to work Wednesdays from 9 AM-5:30 PM starting August through December.
  • Prior experience in a medical/optometric office environment setting is a plus, however, we will train the right person
  • Excellent patient service skills with a focus on direct patient care and compassionate communication
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions, maintain clinical aseptic techniques, and work effectively within a team. Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
