Job purpose
Receives, unpacks and stores materials for production. Operates forklift for the purpose of material flow. Maintains receiving tools and equipment. Execute weekly cycle counts of raw materials.
Duties and Responsibilities/Percentage of Time

· Receive all inbound materials into MRP system (5%) · Unload all manufacturing supplies and equipment and place in proper locations (25%) · Work to resolve discrepancies with orders and identify root cause to prevent reoccurrences · Monitor and organize finished goods area for accuracy (20%) · Hook up and remove hoses and fittings for the offloading of raw materials by rail or truck (5%) · Follow exact procedure for safe unloading of chemicals, and complete logs relating to off-loading (5%) · Maintain and clean tools and equipment used in daily receiving operations (5%) · File Bill of Lading for raw materials in receiving office and inform the Materials Manager (2%) · File copy of all other supplies in production or maintenance office (1%) · Prep and replenish production supplies as needed (5%) |

· Maintain good housekeeping of plant inside and out (10%) |

· Assist in training of new team members to act as backup (1%) · Organize and maintain the raw materials storage area in the warehouse, as well as railcar storage |
Requirements
- Ability to ensure the proper material count and quality before receiving items
- Basic knowledge running MS Windows and MS Office
- Able to perform daily inspection of forklift and other equipment used in the course of the job responsibilities
- Ability to perform all off-loading procedures from trailers, tank truck and rail car, as well as off-loading safely. On the job training provided.
- Ability to complete transfers to the proper storage vessels in the proper quantities. On the job training provided.
- Knowledge of all the chemical and safety characteristics of Poly, Iso, Pentane and any other raw material as required. On the job training provided.
- Ability to understand SAP procedures and to successfully perform receiving. On the job training provided.
- Knowledge of safety aspects of all equipment as well as plant general safety polices.
- Must have 2 years of recent forklift experience.
- Must have steady work history
- Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations
Performance Skills
- Understand volumes and weights and apply directly to follow customer specifications
- Reading – Purchase orders, requisitions etc.
- Math - Calculation of inventory levels and conversion factors.
- Writing – Unloading checklist/Procedures, e-mail
- Communication – Ability to communicate fluently in the English language with co-workers.
- Computer skills – Required to understand and use SAP, MS Word, MS Excel
- Problem solving skills.
- Forklift operation
Equipment Used
This position uses the following equipment in the course of the job duties: measuring devices, power tools, hand tools, forklift, radio, calculator, and computer.
Working Conditions
This position conducts their work in a manufacturing environment with limited exposure to the outdoors; there is exposure to loud machinery, dust, and mechanical with the press. Business is cyclical and will require flexibility in shift hours and days of the week worked. Typically will work 8-10 hour shifts Monday – Friday, plus some required 8 hour shifts on weekends.
Physical Requirements
For this position, it is required to be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally. There is a repetitive use of hands required with simple grasping up to 20 pounds frequently and pushing and pulling up to 40 pounds occasionally. In addition this position requires the following abilities listed with percentages:
Standing (40%)
Lifting, Bending, and Twisting (5%)
Walking (15%)
Sitting, Reaching above shoulders, Driving, and Climbing (40%)
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Used
While working on the manufacturing floor eye protection, hearing protection, Bump cap and safety boots are required at all times. Other forms of PPE may be required as defined by management.
