Join our dynamic R&D team to explore the science behind adhesives that power industrial and commercial applications. As an intern, you'll contribute to projects involving formulation, lab-scale and pilot processing, physical property testing, and method development for solvent-based contact adhesives, separable adhesives, and pressure-sensitive adhesives.
Expect hands-on experience, cross-functional collaboration with production and engineering teams, and opportunities to work directly with customers. Your work will support innovation in product development, quality enhancement, sustainability, and process optimization.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Formulate and test solvent-based adhesives, primers, and pressure-sensitive adhesives at the bench level
- Conduct physical testing and analyze performance data
- Research and recommend new raw materials for adhesive applications
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve manufacturing processes
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
- Support scale-up activities and pilot production trials
- Participate in cross-functional teams and safety initiatives
- Perform additional duties as assigned, including safety-related tasks
Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Polymer Science or a related field
- Completion of at least two years of undergraduate coursework
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Comfortable working in laboratory and manufacturing environments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
- Commitment to confidentiality and adherence to company policies
Other Details
- Candidates must be available to work full-time from May 2026 to August 2026
- One or more formal presentations to internal technical and executive audiences will be required at the completion of the internship
