Description

The Team Lead will support the Supervisor with the day-to-day management of their production cells, overseeing a group of members and ensuring an efficient operation in achieving business targets. They will provide leadership and training to the team, coordinate their workloads, and provide support to ensure that the team delivers. Team leads will monitor any issues and ensure production targets, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and quality standards are met in order to meet the requirements of the customer. They will also develop the team by focusing on individual performance and support requirements to achieve high standards, while fostering a culture of working safely.

Requirements

 General & Task Management

· Work to ensure people and resources are moved in an efficient and effective manner to meet delivery requirements, while achieving all standards

· Ensure equipment is within calibration date and all systems are functioning correctly

· Ensure that non-conforming material is clearly identified and segregated

· Ensure that the escalation procedure is followed at all times.

· Ensure achievement of production throughput against stated capacity targets

· Ensure the team is aware and aligned with day-to-day targets and responsibilities.

· Manage work order closures and stock control transactions

· Carry out incident, accident and non-conformity investigations and associated reporting and action closure

· Monitor change over and/or setup efficiency

· Ensure cell is setup for the following shift

· Monitor and maintain all safety equipment and tools

· Undertake continuous training and development

· Perform root cause analysis (5 Why) and help implement corrective action

· Identify business improvement opportunities within the organization

· Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department

· Other duties as assigned


People Management

· Ensure that team members follow standard work procedures and comply with all requirements

· Ensure compliance with 6S requirements

· Responsible for training of operators and ensuring skill requirements are met and maintained

· Responsible for daily management and support for the team to achieve operational success

· Monitor and ensure compliance with Company procedures

· Provide technical expertise to the team and respond to operator queries

· Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviors expected of them

· Review, implement, and update training matrices, absenteeism reports, risk assessments

· Communicate KPIs so that each employee is aware of expectations and deliverables


Relationship Management

· Work positively with support functions to fully define the processes/procedures/controls relevant to team activities

· Interface with Production Planning to determine schedules for production

· Interact and communicate with other departments and ensure an effective relationship is maintained

· Feedback to the Management team to share ideas and improve operation

· Recommend, support, and implement continuous improvement activities and process/procedure improvements to optimize results and improve safety, quality, and efficiency
