Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items with precision, including techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and food production for large-scale service.
- Follow detailed recipes and menu specifications to ensure consistency and quality across all dishes.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety standards and sanitizing procedures to ensure a safe environment for staff and guests.
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new dishes and improving existing recipes based on customer feedback and seasonal ingredients.
- Handle food with care, demonstrating excellent knife skills and proper food handling techniques during preparation and cooking.
- Support high-volume production needs by efficiently managing multiple orders while maintaining quality standards.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations, including meal preparation, plating, and serving during busy hours.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations and equipment, adhering to all food safety management protocols.
- Participate in catering events or special functions as needed, providing exceptional service from setup through cleanup.
Experience
- Proven experience in dietary department settings or dietary aide roles is highly desirable.
- Strong background in food industry environments such as restaurants or catering services with fine dining experience preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in food preparation techniques including poaching, braising, grilling, and general cooking methods.
- Familiarity with food safety sanitizing procedures and food handling regulations is essential.
- Experience working in high-volume production kitchens or catering environments that require efficient meal preparation under tight deadlines.
