What are the responsibilities and job description for the Materials Supervisor position at CARLEX?
KEY TASKS
- Enforce safety rules and regulations such as safety stand-downs
- Plan work assignments and equipment allocations to meet daily operations and production goals
- Evaluate customer EDI releases daily and plan loads accordingly
- Print and file required customer screens for answering any disputes
- Answer all Critical and Shortages in the customer systems
- Set up prototypes, schedule trucks, sales orders, and shippers for customer releases
- Coordinating expedited shipment when necessary
- Review launch screens / GPIRS requests and answer ship date / quantity per AQP timing
- Direct workers in warehousing/shipping/receiving and related services, such as moving, storing, loading and unloading of materials
- Troubleshoot critical issues with JBBA screens and investigate potential solutions
- Review orders, production schedules, and shipping or receiving notices to determine work sequences and material shipping dates, types, volumes, or destinations; ASN
- Inspect or test materials, stock, vehicles, equipment, or facilities to ensure that they are safe, free of defects, and consistent with specifications; SIMMS, JBBA, SVBA, VABA
- Oversee Cycle Counting
- Manage hourly labor; timesheets, corrective action, and payroll
Requirements
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Years of Experience:
- 3 years of experience, APICS certification preferred
Other Requirements:
- Regular Attendance to Staffing meetings
- Familiarity with Covisint, QAD, Freedom, MP&L, and CMMS are a Plus
- Ability to learn and follow procedures while working safely in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying to better motivate, develop, and direct people as they work, while identifying the best people for the job
- Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong and apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
- Must be willing and able to work OT as required
- Regular and predictable attendance required
- Cooperate within teams to carry out tasks and responsibilities
- Off-schedule hours may be required as work load or projects dictate, including weekends and holidays
