Essential Job Functions
- Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of engineers, fostering a culture of trust, empowerment, and high performance.
- Lead and coordinate diverse engineering groups to drive collaboration, align objectives, and deliver integrated solutions across complex projects.
- Oversee the design, development, and deployment of robotic systems and automated processes.
- Maintain accurate and consistent schedules for projects and tasks for multiple plant projects.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful delivery of automation initiatives.
- Partner with senior leadership to align automation projects with long term business goals.
- Program and design new and existing PLC controls.
- Help plan preventative maintenance plans for equipment in the plant both new and current.
- Work to help develop new technology for the plant to utilize in efforts to improve cycle times and quality detection / prevention systems.
- Help train plant techs and engineers on controls related skills.
- Create and correct plant electrical drawings for equipment.
- Work with plant teams to help develop accurate quoting models. REQUIREMENTS
- BSEE or BSME Degree required
- 8 Years of experience programming and troubleshooting PLCs and Robots
- 3 Years in a leadership Role
- Regular and predictable attendance required
- High level of understanding of Fanuc, ABB, and Kuka robot operations
- Demonstrated understanding of Ethernet cabling and addressing, EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, CCLink, and wireless PC networking
- Understanding of basic concepts of HMIs, familiar with PanelView Plus and PanelView hardware
- Demonstrated understanding of Cognex and Keyence Vision software
- Demonstrated deep knowledge of PLC programming: RSLogix/Studio and Melsoft GXWorks
- Demonstrated understanding of AC and DC motors and servo systems
- Working knowledge of SEW Movifit and Moviaxis, Kinetix, Ultra3000, and PowerFlex, drives
- Valid driver’s license required for business travel
- Work beyond the traditional 40 hours per week may be required as workload or projects dictate, including, nights, weekends and holidays
- Advanced/Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent Analytical Skills
- Ability to use RS Net Worx software, RS View Studio and Panel Builder software
- Ability to perform electrical troubleshooting and read electrical prints
- Ability to wire industrial control systems including 480V/120V/24V power, drives, motors, I/O and sensors
- Ability to design, diagnose, and troubleshoot vision applications
- Ability to connect to PLC and navigate programming software
- Hands-on approach to problem solving and analysis.
