Activities assistants help to create a stimulating and fulfilling environment for residents through recreational activities and programs, promoting socialization, entertainment, and overall well-being.
- Plan, conduct and organize daily programs for Residents, including intervention for room bound Residents
- Develop a plan on care based on each Resident assessment with measurable goals and appropriate intervention or approaches.
- Accurately document Resident attendance to groups in the designated notebook.
- Evaluate the overall effectiveness of activities for which the assistant is responsible and as necessary and modify the activity to meet the Resident’s needs and interests.
- Transport Residents to and from activities and regularly request the assistance from nursing that is needed.
- Assist with the posting of posters, calendars and pertinent Activity information on the designated Activity Boards.
- Under the supervision of the Activity Director, purchase supplies as needed.
- Attend any meeting as directed by the Activity Director.
- Train and supervise volunteers assigned to activities.
- Committed to working with residents and families to develop and implement strategies that promote person-centered care.
- Applies "5 Star" customer service approach in all aspects of job.
- Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
- Reports to the appropriate managers any known or suspected violations of policy and procedures, regulations or standards of conduct.
- Attends required in-services and training.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
