Overview
The Surgery Scheduler/Med Assistant provides planning and service to patients and physicians in order to facilitate the scheduling and performance of surgical procedures. In addition, this position will room and prepare patient to see the surgeon as needed.Responsibilities
Facilitates the scheduling of surgery cases / procedures within a hospital or out-patient surgery center.May conduct financial discussion with patients regarding fees for surgical procedures and collect surgical deposits, as per departmental guidelines.Serves as a resource to other staff regarding surgery scheduling functions and participates in training other clinic staff to cover during absences or anticipated vacancies.Schedules pre-surgical H & P's per policy MS503.Verifies insurance benefits and communicates information to patients. Rooms patients including performing and documenting vital signs and preparing patient to see the surgeon, as needed.Qualifications
Education: HS Diploma/GED required
Work Experience: Previous Medical Office with scheduling

Salary Range
The compensation range for this position is $18per hour - $29.13per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
