  • The IT Project Manager provides comprehensive oversight and management of the college’s technology infrastructure, software implementation, cybersecurity, and enterprise IT projects. This position serves as the college’s primary representative for institutional IT initiatives, ensuring successful project delivery on time, within budget, and in compliance with all applicable regulations, security standards, and institutional goals.

  1. Plan, coordinate and manage all phases of enterprise IT projects from initiation through implementation and support transition.
  2. Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules, budgets and documentation for multiple concurrent technology projects.
  3. Serve as primary liaison between the college and appropriate stakeholders, including software vendors, consultants, contractors and regulatory agencies.
  4. Review and approve project documentation, system configurations, testing plans and implementation timelines.
  5. Conduct regular project status meetings to monitor progress, quality, cybersecurity compliance and adherence to project requirements.
  6. Manage enterprise IT project budgets.
  7. Review and process vendor invoices, licensing agreements and service contracts.
  8. Track project expenditures and prepare regular financial and operational reports.
  9. Ensure compliance with funding source requirements related to grants, state funding and technology initiatives.
  10. Assist in preparation of RFPs, bid documents and technical specifications.
  11. Participate in vendor selection and proposal evaluation processes.
  12. Administer IT contracts and ensure vendor compliance with service-level agreements.
  13. Facilitate resolution of project issues, risks and vendor disputes.
  14. Coordinate technology implementation activities with campus operations to minimize disruption to academic and administrative functions.
  15. Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior leadership. 
  16. Organize and lead project meetings with vendors, consultants and campus stakeholders.
  17. Ensure all technology activities comply with federal, state and local regulations, including data privacy and cybersecurity standards.
  18. Coordinate system testing, deployment schedules and user acceptance activities.
  19. Ensure accessibility standards and ADA compliance are met in all technology implementations.
  20. Other duties as assigned. 
Risk-management and loss-prevention activities
  1. Actively participate in and carry out activities in support of the college risk-management program in a capacity appropriate to this position.
  2. Monitor conditions, events and circumstances present in the college operation to avoid potential torts or injuries to students, staff or the public, and then communicate observations to the appropriate supervisor and/or risk-management committee.
  3. Maintain a working knowledge of the college’s emergency procedures and how to operate emergency phone systems, including internal/external call boxes.
  1. Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, information systems, business administration or related field required.
  2. Minimum seven years of progressive experience in IT project management, with at least three years managing enterprise-level technology implementations.
  3. Experience with public sector or higher education technology environments preferred.
  4. Higher education systems experience highly desirable.
  5. Professional certifications (PMP, ITIL, CISSP, CompTIA Security , Agile/Scrum) preferred.
  6. Thorough knowledge of enterprise technology systems, infrastructure and cybersecurity practices.
  7. Strong understanding of Illinois data privacy regulations and public procurement requirements.
  8. Proficiency in project management software, Microsoft Office Suite and enterprise collaboration tools.
  9. Excellent project management, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  10. Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, contracts and system requirements.
  11. Knowledge of cybersecurity standards, ADA accessibility requirements and IT compliance regulations.
  12. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  13. Strong financial acumen and budget management skills.
  14. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  15. Valid Illinois driver’s license.
  16. The ability to communicate successfully with clients of all ages, socio-economic status, gender or race.
  17. Exhibits integrity and professionalism.
  18. Spanish or French proficiency preferred
  1. Basic dexterity skills (computer work, telephoning and other office equipment).  
  2. Must have visual and hearing capabilities with/without correction.
  3. General physical effort required includes sitting, bending, reaching and some lifting (20 lbs. or less) and the ability to place a work order for anything over that limit. 

Salary : $94,180 - $110,410
