HVAC Service Technician

Carl's Quality Cooling and Heating is seeking a HVAC Technician to join our Conroe, TX team

Description

This is a full-time position and will include some on-call evenings and weekends in rotation. We offer employee and family benefits following a 100-day review period, which will include comprehensive health, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance as well as competitive pay and bonus compensation. Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test, along with a motor vehicle driving record check.

Job Purpose

The basic function of the HVAC Technician is to have the ability and knowledge of working on various types of HVAC equipment both in residential and or commercial applications while maintaining professionalism with excellent customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues related to HVAC equipment.
• Troubleshoot and install repair parts and test operations.
• Knowledge of proper duct sizing with the ability to explain to a customer the importance of proper air flow and how it affects the operation of the system.
• Work with other co-workers or take the lead on larger projects.
• Be part of the on call rotation for after hours and weekend service calls.
• Maintain a properly stocked work van and its cleanliness.

Other Duties

• Excellent verbal communication skills for working with homeowners, building managers/owners, other contractors, coworkers and office staff.
• Performs other duties that may be required such as proper completion notes, follow ups and data collection and entry into field mobile application.

Requirements

• Possession of minimum 3-5 years HVAC service experience
• Possession of High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
• Possession of EPA certification
• Possession of TDLR technician registration
• Possess effective verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills
• Must have an honest and dependable personality
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Strong ability to distinguish between various HVAC equipment
• Self motivated individual with strong ability to follow instructions and work alone, as well as work effectively within a team
• Ability to display professional company image
• Possession of valid Texas driver's license with good record of driving
• Ability to pass a background check for criminality
• Ability to pass a drug test
• Strong ability to write and read in English language
• Ability to lift items weighing up to 100lbs safely
• Strong ability to operate under severe temperature condition
• Ability to work on weekends, nights, and/or overtime
• Ability to climb, stoop, balance, crouch, crawl, and/or kneel continually.
