Principal Objective of Position:

The Field Foreman is the front-line management position for the Company. They are responsible for the overall coordination and implementation of field activities on their assigned project. They are the on-site representative to the owner (or their designated on-site representative), subcontractors and suppliers. They are expected to represent the Company to our employees with respect to their productivity, skill development, health and welfare and policy enforcement.

Essential Functions:

· Supervising and coordinating the work of the Company employees in all crafts, in crews greater than 3 employees

· Planning, scheduling, and communicating day to day construction activities to their assigned crew and ensure that employees under their direct supervision perform their job skillfully, efficiently, and safely

· Advising crew on safety guidelines and company policies and procedures

· Performing craft specific or general labor tasks as necessary

· Arranging for placement of material and equipment delivery at the jobsite

· Recommending employment actions, evaluating performance, and providing work direction for assigned crew

· Resolving employee disputes, fostering teamwork, demonstrating craft specific skills to employees

· In the absence of or at the direction of the project supervisor, tracking and reporting employee time; maintaining accurate daily logs, field reports and purchase receipts and timely submittal of same

Other Functions:

  • Promote and maintain a culture that values professionalism, honesty, safety, and cleanliness.
  • Participate in training and other forms of continuous improvement initiatives.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 30 Hour OSHA Training preferred

Experience:

  • 5 to 8 years of prior experience in the construction field, including at least one year in a supervisory position is preferred.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Standard hours of work are Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Hours of Work may fluctuate depending on the needs of the projects. Some overtime may be required.

Travel

Travel to job sites may be required. Job site locations are variable.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required:

· Working knowledge of means and methods of construction

· Working knowledge of the Company’s Policies and Procedures

· Working knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, and their applications and using mathematics to solve problems

· Working knowledge of each of the crafts self-performed by the Company

· Above average knowledge in his/her craft and the same basic aptitude as those working in other crafts supervised

· Ability to demonstrate tasks, lead by example and motivate subordinates

· Competent and supportive in carrying out the directives of his/her project supervisor

· Strong English verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to understand written documents, flowcharts, and construction plans
  • Ability to communicating effectively in verbally or in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience
  • Ability to understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
  • Ability to be aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team and to foster and maintain a team environment where all members are working toward a common end goal
  • Ability to directly assist in the successful execution of other team member’s roles and responsibilities

Physical Demands and Requirements:

· Extended periods of sitting, standing, or working on hands and knees may be required

· May be required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

· Frequently lift and/or move items up to 100 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move items over 100 pounds with or without assistance

· Repetitive Motions

· Walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, bending and Climbing Stairs and ladders

· Reaching with hands and arms including items overhead

· Pushing and pulling objects up to 100 pounds

· Use of hands and fingers to handle, feel, and operate equipment or machines

· Normal or corrected normal vision and hearing

· Clear speech

· Other requirements as noted in the Employee Physical Demand Profile

Pay: From $32.19 per hour
