Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Specialist to join our team. This role involves working closely with individuals, particularly children and those with developmental disabilities, to implement behavioral therapy techniques and support their growth and development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in behavioral health, experience with autism, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine individual needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on applied behavior analysis principles.
  • Collect and analyze data on patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary.
  • Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum.
  • Collaborate with families, educators, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation, including medical records and patient assessments, in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Educate families and caregivers about behavioral strategies and interventions.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills in special education and patient care.

Skills

  • Proficient in behavioral therapy techniques and applied behavior analysis.
  • Experience working with children and individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Strong understanding of data collection methods related to patient progress.
  • Familiarity with special education practices and working with people with disabilities.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, documentation, and record-keeping practices.
  • Ability to conduct thorough patient assessments and provide effective patient care.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with families and interdisciplinary teams.
