Position Summary
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to lead enriched, self-directed lives. This position provides personalized care, advocates for inclusion, and fosters independence in both home and community settings.
Responsibilities
- Daily Living Support
Assist with personal hygiene, meal preparation, and mobility.
- Skill Development
Support individuals in learning daily life skills, including communication, self-care, socialization, and vocational tasks.
- Community Integration
Facilitate participation in social, educational, and recreational activities that promote inclusion and personal growth.
- Safety & Advocacy
Ensure the physical and emotional safety of individuals while upholding their rights and promoting self-advocacy.
- Documentation & Communication
Maintain accurate records of daily activities, health needs, and behavioral data. Collaborate with families, medical professionals, and interdisciplinary teams.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (required); additional certifications (e.g., CPR, First Aid, Medication Administration) preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required depending on job setting.
- Experience with disability services or caregiving strongly preferred, but training is often provided.
- Empathy, patience, clear communication skills, and adaptability are essential.

Schedule & Compensation
- part-time positions available; shifts may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

STARTING SALARY IS $24.00 - $24.00 PER HOUR.
