Role Description The Auction Prep/Packer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Bluffton, SC. This role is responsible for sorting, organizing, and preparing household items, collectibles, and personal property for online auctions and estate sales. Day-to-day tasks include carefully packing and labeling items, photographing and staging them for listing, and maintaining clean, safe work areas. The position involves following established processes for item cataloging, handling fragile and valuable goods with care, and assisting with home cleanouts and relocation projects as needed. The Auction Prep/Packer collaborates with team members, follows instructions from supervisors, and interacts respectfully with clients in their homes.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to sort, categorize, and prepare items efficiently.
- Attention to detail and care in packing, labeling, and handling fragile or valuable items.
- Basic computer or mobile device skills for using auction platforms, photo upload tools, and inventory systems.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move boxes or furniture within safe limits, and work in varying home environments.
- Effective communication skills and a professional, respectful demeanor when working with team members and clients.
- Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision.
- Comfort working in homes that may be cluttered, dusty, or in transition, with a commitment to safety and cleanliness.
- Prior experience in packing, auctions, estate sales, retail, warehouse, or similar hands-on roles is helpful but not required.
