Job Summary
Overview

Duties
- Perform dental assistant procedures following infection control protocols
- Conduct patient assessments and review medical history and vital signs
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and preventive care
- Assist dentists during procedures, including pediatric patients
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation using dental software (Open Dental)
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant with a valid license to practice and x-ray certified, coronal polishing license is a plus
- Proficient in dental terminology and dental assisting techniques
- Experience in conducting patient assessments and documenting review
- Knowledge of infection control procedures and maintaining a clean clinical environment
- Trained in the use of intra oral scanners is highly encouraged
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring it is clean and organized according to infection control standards.
- Take digital X-rays while adhering to safety protocols.
- Manage patient records using Open Dental, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform chairside assisting duties, including passing instruments and materials to the dentist.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation as needed.
- Support pediatric dentistry by creating a welcoming environment for young patients.
- Utilize 3D scanners for imaging when necessary, demonstrating knowledge of medical imaging techniques.
- Assist with general dentistry tasks, including prosthodontics and endodontics procedures.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and aseptic techniques is essential.
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is a plus as well as Nitrous Oxide equipment knowledge
- Proficiency in using dental software will be beneficial.
