Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistants / CFSS Support Workers to provide high-quality care to individuals in various settings, including home, community, and long-term care facilities. This role involves supporting clients with daily activities, health monitoring, and emotional well-being, ensuring they receive respectful and personalized care. The ideal candidate will have experience working with diverse populations such as seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or other special needs. Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home health is highly valued. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, and temperature
- Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as needed
- Support clients with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and laundry
- Observe and report any changes in health status or behavior to healthcare professionals or family members
- Follow individualized care plans tailored to each resident’s needs
- Assist with transfers using proper techniques to ensure safety for residents with disabilities or mobility challenges
- Support residents during recreational activities and social engagement opportunities
Requirements
- Prior experience in home & community care, assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care is a must.
- Knowledge of patient observation, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring
- Certification in First Aid and CPR required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities, autism, sci, dementia (Alzheimer’s & memory care), or hospice care is highly desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and assist with transfers using appropriate equipment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team setting
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve clients' quality of life
- Ability to work flexible hours including days; some positions may require working in assisted living or home environments that require adaptability to client needs
