Assistant Teacher – Floater
JOB SUMMARY
Floating PreK Teachers are responsible for assisting with planning, organizing, scheduling, and leading educational, recreational, and/or cultural activities for students enrolled in CPA ELC programming, as well as assisting with daily center operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide classroom coverage, as needed, and work directly with children enrolled in PreK programming.
- Supervise and monitor children, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Establish and enforce program and classroom rules and effectively utilize classroom management techniques; Oversee conduct and behavior, preventing altercations and injuries through non-confrontational, non-physical, non-threatening techniques; correct disciplinary problems in an understanding, positive, and non-physical manner; intercede in and resolves crises; teach conflict resolution through the development and use of verbal skills.
- Assist with meal distribution by distributing breakfast, lunch, and snacks to each classroom.
- Participate in morning and afternoon child drop off and pickup, as needed, including completing a COVID-19 Screening with each child and escorting them to/from their classrooms.
- Provide front desk coverage, as needed.
- Maintain positive and professional relationships with children, parents, and coworkers.
- Ensure that program environment is neat, clean, and safe.
- Attend and participate in all required trainings and staff meetings.
- Perform related work, as required.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED
- AA/BS Degree preferred, High School Diploma required
- Two (2) years of experience working with youth
Ability to provide all required clearances, health assessment, and training documentation
