Direct Support Professional

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team. This role is essential in providing support and assistance to individuals with disabilities, helping them achieve their personal goals and enhance their quality of life. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering independence and promoting a positive living environment in both home and community settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to individuals with disabilities in daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication administration.
• Assist clients in developing and following care plans tailored to their specific needs.
• Support individuals in engaging with their community through recreational activities and social interactions.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of clients by adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality.
• Perform heavy lifting as necessary to assist clients with mobility or transfers.
• Administer first aid when required and respond appropriately to emergencies.
• Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and progress toward goals.

Qualifications

• Skills in meal preparation, ensuring nutritional needs are met for clients.
• Certification in first aid is a plus; willingness to obtain certification if not already held.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed for client assistance.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to client privacy and confidentiality.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with a genuine desire to help others achieve independence.

Schedule
Hours vary 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift opportunities available. Flexibility is encouraged to meet client needs.
