Job Overview
Caring For Creatures Animal Sanctuary in Fluvanna County is seeking a reliable, hardworking Groundskeeper to help maintain our property by mowing and managing the grass and outdoor areas. This role is essential to keeping our sanctuary safe, clean, and comfortable for both animals and visitors. Duties
- Mow and trim grass across the sanctuary grounds
- Operate and maintain lawn equipment (push mower, trimmers, etc.)
- Clear debris from fenced areas and walkways
- Monitor grounds for hazards (holes, damaged fencing, fallen branches)
- Basic equipment maintenance (fueling, cleaning, reporting repairs needed)
- Must be comfortable working safely and respectfully around animals
- The use of proper protective equipment is provided and required
- Assist with watering and weeding existing flower beds and seeded areas
Qualifications
- Experience operating lawn equipment preferred
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Reliable transportation
- Physical stamina to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions; ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive attitude toward grounds upkeep and safety standards.
- Experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or farm work, preferred, but not required
- Basic mechanical knowledge for minor equipment troubleshooting, preferred, but not required
Pay: From $14.00 per hour
