We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Patient Assistant to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, grooming, and feeding.
- Monitor and record vital signs and report any significant changes to the nursing staff.
- Provide support in administering medications as directed by healthcare providers.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for patient documentation.
- Assist in mobility and transportation of patients using equipment such as Hoyer lifts.
- Engage with patients suffering from various conditions including Alzheimer's, dementia, and developmental disabilities.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients through regular sanitation practices.
- Participate in ongoing training and education related to patient care techniques and medical terminology.
Experience
Candidates should possess experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Critical care experience in settings such as ICU or Level I/II trauma centers.
- Medical office experience or long-term care experience in nursing homes or assisted living facilities.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or providing hospice care.
- Familiarity with phlebotomy procedures, medication administration, and basic life support techniques.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical documentation practices is essential.
- Previous roles in emergency medicine, pediatrics, geriatrics, outpatient clinics, or home care are advantageous.
