Our Assisted Living Community located in Muskego is in need of a Full Time week day shift Cook, 7AM-3:30PM, to provide meal service to our 30 Residents. Previous related experience is preferred. If you are a hard-working person who truly wants to make a difference we encourage you to apply!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepares and serves meals according to the planned menus. Encourages residents to eat a proper, balanced diet and adequate fluids while respecting resident’s right to free choice.
• Prepares and serves meals according to menu and resident diet order in a restaurant style.
• Performs prep work for evening meal and snack.
• Follows all proper diet orders for meals and snacks. Offers substitutions to residents to accommodate resident likes, habits, customs, or conditions.
• Cleans and sanitizes kitchen after each meal and at the end of day.
• Maintains kitchen in a clean and organized fashion.
• Completes on going food inventory as items come in and are used.
• Maintains refrigerator and freezer in a clean and organized manner as well as proper temperature control.
• Assures proper food temperatures for hot and cold items.
• Practices proper hygiene in the kitchen and wears Caring Alternatives uniform.
• Assures foods are prepared, stored, and labeled according to proper kitchen and food procedures.
• Maintains a safe and secure working environment and practices safe working habits.

Requirements:
- Previous experience as a cook or chef is preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects as needed.
