What are the responsibilities and job description for the CHW Outreach & Events position at Caridad Center?

Duties & Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with leadership, volunteers, and other staff, identifies and prioritizes events to support organizational recognition objectives.
  • Plans, coordinates, and implements event logistics, including locale, catering, speakers, displays, screenings, facilities, and equipment. 
  • Delegates appropriate tasks to volunteers, staff, and local leadership. 
  • Ensures event setup and clean-up are covered.
  • Communicates with and solicits input from management and staff on the planning and evaluation of events and related communications.
  • Analyzes programs for effectiveness, conducting post-event reporting and return on investment analysis. 
  • Develops and implements tracking mechanisms for evaluating communications and events against specific preset goals.
  • Evaluates and negotiates contracts with vendors, agents, donors, and corporate sponsors to ensure favorable outcomes and allotted budgets are followed.
  • Assists in developing budgets for events and related communications and operates within those budgets and established guidelines in placing orders for venues and services connected with the events or communications projects.
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring the confidentiality of data collected through the health assessment, on-site screenings, and health promotion activities.
  • Plan, schedule, and conduct programs that provide physical, intellectual, social, and community assessments to address social determinants for our community participants.
  • Attend all community-planned functions and help coordinate the event from beginning to end, including set-up, running, and breaking down.
  • Assist in preparing and organizing a calendar of events, including coordination for educational and training logistics (MOUs, food, paperwork, and data entry)
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours (evenings and some weekends) for planned activity events.
  • Ensures prompt and appropriate acknowledgment of social services event donors.
  • Submit monthly and quarterly reports on the 4th of every month.
  • Attend meetings and training as required. 
  • Work in support of and cooperation with CHC staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Programmatic Responsibilities 

  • Understand of, and commit to health equity, including racial equity and addressing the social determinants of health.
  • Manage the recruitment effectively, interviewing, hiring, training, and termination of outreach staff and volunteers.
  • Aides in the development of monthly reports provided by the outreach team.
  • Must be able to work independently. 
  • Ability to receive and offer feedback constructively. 
  • Ability to handle complex and stressful situations with professional composure
  • Provide department presentations to partnership organizations, patients, and community members. 

 

 

Qualifications 

  • Post-secondary education, with at least five years of experience in a public health environment, specifically outreach coordination.
  • Must demonstrate strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. 
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) proficiency, computer literate, effective collaboration, and culturally competent. 
  • Must be computer literate and have effective collaboration, communication, and documentation skills.
