What are the responsibilities and job description for the LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS MANAGER position at Caribbean Landscaping?
Overview
We are an established Outer Banks landscaping company with more than 20 years in business, specializing primarily in commercial landscape maintenance for county properties, HOA communities, parks, and other large properties throughout Dare and Currituck Counties.
We are looking for an experienced, dependable Landscape Maintenance Operations Manager to work directly with the owner and help oversee our day-to-day field operations.
This is not simply a crew leader position. We are looking for someone who understands the landscaping business, knows how to manage people, notices when a property isn’t up to standard, and can help keep multiple crews organized and productive.
Duties
You’ll work directly with the owner to help manage our landscape maintenance operations, including:
- Oversee and coordinate multiple landscape maintenance crews
- Help plan daily and weekly crew schedules and routes
- Make sure crews are properly staffed and prepared each morning
- Communicate daily priorities with crew leaders
- Visit properties regularly to inspect quality and identify problems
- Ensure county, HOA and commercial properties are maintained according to contract requirements
- Follow up with crews when work needs to be corrected
- Help manage employee performance, attendance and productivity
- Coordinate equipment, materials and supplies needed by crews
- Respond to day-to-day field issues and help solve problems before they reach the owner
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding routine maintenance needs and concerns
- Keep the owner informed of property issues, customer concerns and crew performance
- Help improve efficiency, organization and accountability throughout the company
- Assist with seasonal work including cleanups, mulching, pruning, fertilization and other landscape services
- Coordinate with irrigation and enhancement work as needed
Requirements/Experience
An ideal candidate will have:
- Several years of professional landscaping or grounds-maintenance experience
- Experience as a foreman, crew leader, field manager, production manager or operations manager
- Experience supervising multiple employees or crews
- Strong knowledge of commercial landscape maintenance
- Ability to recognize quality landscape work and identify problems
- Good organizational and time-management skills
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to hold employees accountable while treating people fairly and professionally
- Ability to communicate comfortably with HOA managers, county personnel and other customers
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Basic comfort with smartphones, scheduling software, email and photos/documentation
Knowledge of irrigation, fertilization, pesticide applications and North Carolina landscaping practices is a plus.
Bilingual English/Spanish is also a plus, but not required.

At the same time, we’re not hiring someone to simply mow grass or run one crew. We need someone capable of helping manage the bigger picture.
Pay: $52,252.61 - $62,927.87 per year
