  • Develop construction and outage sequencing plans using information from engineering, field personnel, and system operations.
  • Lead project teams through the coordination of outage sequences, switching requirements, and work windows.
  • Schedule switching to enable work on substations, transmission lines, distribution lines, and associated facilities.
  • Analyze outage requests, identify contingencies, and ensure compliance with PJM outage coordination requirements.
  • Coordinate switching schedules with field crews, control centers, and project management to meet project deadlines.
  • Validate switching procedures and ensure documentation meets Manual of Operations and utility standards.

  • Maintain awareness of ongoing system conditions and bring a questioning attitude to all work activities.
  • Promote and uphold safety expectations consistent with utility and CARIAN standards.

Qualifications

  • Two-year technical degree from an accredited engineering or technical school; in lieu of degree, 2–4 years of relevant experience will be considered.
  • 0–2 years of related experience in project coordination, outage planning, system operations, scheduling, or line/substation construction support.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated interpersonal capability.
  • Proficiency with relevant software tools (EDOA, EMS, GIS, MS Office).
