Principal Accountabilities
- Assist the supervisor in the implementation of safety procedures and safe work practices within the department; support employee ramp-in, on-the-job training, and ergonomics / job rotation practices
- Ensure product is processed according to specifications
- Maintain effective communication with department staff; focus on reducing downtime, effectively anticipate product runs and / or product changes, and focus on manufacturing high-quality products
- May be required to perform product verification entries in logs; notify production management and / or Quality Assurance of potential deviations promptly for corrective action
- Fill-in for supervisor as needed, including his / her absence and vacation; fill-in for absentees, tardies, and vacation of hourly employees as needed
- Fulfill other job-related duties as may become assigned by plant management
Required Qualifications
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must have the ability to read, write, and speak English
- Must have the ability to meet medical requirements similar to those of obtaining a driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous production/farm experience
- Previous Lead or supervisory experience
- Previous Cargill experience
- Work history in the past 12 months
