Carfrae Consulting is seeking an established Communications Coordinator with a focus on hospitality, design, and lifestyle, specifically in the luxury realm. We are looking for someone with strong expertise, demonstrable editorial understanding and knowledge of the media landscape, with proven agency experience. Candidates must be available full time and based in New York City, with in-office teamwork required.
Key Responsibilities & Opportunities
The Communications Coordinator directly supports the senior team on day-to-day client management and 360-degree communications strategies and initiatives across multiple accounts, from concept through execution and reporting.
- Supporting press strategy development, pitching, and placement with national and regional print and digital outlets across North America, as well as globally with select clients.
- Handling all inbound press requests in a timely manner, including thorough background research, and facilitating all asset requests to meet editorial deadlines.
- Maintaining media databases across multiple industries and clients, ensuring they are always up to date and continually expanding to include new targets.
- Organizing client materials including press releases, campaign assets, product imagery, etc.
- Interfacing with external agencies on behalf of consultancy clients, including the coordination of reports for global client events with international agency partners.
- Maintaining editorial trackers and preparing bi-weekly/monthly/bi-monthly/initiative specific reports for clients, ensuring flawless presentations and consistent adherence to client reporting deadlines.
- Leading always-on media monitoring and tracking (print, digital & social) alongside fellow junior team members, including real-time clipping of coverage to service to clients.
- Servicing client stakeholders on a daily basis, and representing the agency across multiple clients to consistently propel agency impact and to deliver continuous results to clients.
- Preparing and circulating meeting agendas, notes, and action items, and supporting the senior leadership team to progress next steps.
- Identifying and engaging KOLs in key markets through thoughtful gifting and hosting strategies that drive ROI for clients. Coordinating logistics for product seedings, as well as hosted visits/stays at client properties.
- Experiential event knowledge a plus, from event concepting, production coordination, and guest list management, through press coverage, asset deployment, and post-event reporting. Coordinating efforts end-to-end for all types of events including press previews, press trips, presentations, cocktail events, luncheons and dinners, in-store activations, panels, and more.
- Consistently and proactively seeking out new pitch and amplification opportunities on behalf of all agency clients, including prospective editorial media placements, speaking opportunities, partnerships, and beyond.
Who You Are: Skills & Requirements
- A minimum of 2-3 years full-time public relations experience, with luxury design and/or hospitality experience preferred.
- A motivated team player with strong initiative, paired with the confidence and capability to independently handle and follow up on multiple tasks simultaneously in a calm and organized manner under competing deadlines.
- Pristine organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as this role includes both client and media facing communication responsibilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with an eagerness to build and maintain media and KOL relationships.
- Excellent computer skills, with strong proficiency in and a deep understanding of Google Drive (Sheets, Slides), Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel), Adobe Acrobat, Dropbox, and preferably Cision and/or similar media monitoring tools. Expertise with Claude or similar AI tools a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in communications, marketing, business or a related field preferred.
- Based in New York City; ability to travel for work on an as-needed basis.

A good faith estimated annual pay range for this role is $60,000 - $65,000 per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, qualifications, and location, and the final offer will reflect the totality of the candidate's background. There may be future opportunities for continued pay progression based on continued strong performance in the role.
