What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian position at Carey Exempted Village Schools?
Full Time Custodian
Responsibilities: Provide custodial services to ensure an attractive, sanitary and safe environment for students, staff and visitors. Assist in preparing facilities and completing special cleaning assignments for the operations and activities that occur in the classroom and for on campus events
Responsible for various cleaning and maintenance duties in the building including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, waxing, buffing, vacuuming and shampooing floors and carpets
Wash walls, windows and ceilings; Dust and polish furniture; Sanitize fixtures in restrooms, drinking fountains and wash basins
Replace hand towels, toilet tissue, and soap in restrooms; replace burned out light bulbs and tubes, replenish classroom supplies; empty trash and recycling receptacles
Maintain the physical appearance of all assigned facilities, duties to include but not limited to: mowing, trimming, painting, and provide removal of snow and ice from drive and walkways
Moves and rearranges furniture as directed. Must be able to lift and carry 50-75lbs
Ability to work independently and be a self-starter
Requirements:
High School Diploma
Prior Cleaning/Maintenance experience preferred
Shift: Second (3:30pm-12am) or Third (9:30pm-6am) Monday-Friday, 6:30am-3pm during summer months.
This position is a term position which could last 3-6 months with the possiblity of becoming a permanent full time position.
