Qualifications:Summary:
The Registered Nurse is responsible for supporting medical staff, medication administration and medication monitoring under the supervision of the Nurse Practitioner and the administrative supervisor of the Medical Director. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for psychiatric patients.
- Monitor patients for behavioral changes and escalating symptoms.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a psychiatrist or Nurse Practitioner
- Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
- Maintains accurate patient records and documentation.
- Educates patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment plans.
- Collaborates with psychiatrists, social workers, and therapists to develop and adjust care plans.
- Maintains licensure, BLS certification and other qualifying credentials necessary to provide services under Federal and State guidelines.
- Participates in quality assurance activities as evidenced by participation in the identification and resolution of problems identified by quality assurance activities, such as qualitative and quantitative peer review, direct observation, and other quality assurance monitors in place.
- Assists in the promulgation of medical/psychiatric policies and procedures and consults with the medical staff designated administrative staff members regarding the quality of medical services.
- Ensures safety and maintains a therapeutic work environment in accordance with facility policies.
- Follows all guidelines outlined in the CAREY Policies and Procedures Manual including Corporate Compliance Policies.
- Is expected to have regular and predictable attendance and the ability to work cooperatively with others.
- Other assigned duties by supervisor or management to meet the needs of the organization.
Position Qualifications:
Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee. Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing; BLS Certification required; Minimum 1 year of psychiatric or behavioral health nursing experience preferred; Ability to handle emotionally charged situations with empathy and professionalism.
Work Environment:
Inpatient psychiatric units, emergency psychiatric services. May include exposure to potentially violent or self-destructive behaviors. Rotating 12-hour shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Salary : $34 - $36
