Carex is partnering with a biotech industry leader to find their next Scrum Master! The Scrum Master is responsible for managing Agile development sprints from planning through execution and review. This role facilitates Scrum ceremonies, manages the product backlog, collaborates on business and technical requirements, manages support tickets, and proactively removes impediments to keep development teams moving efficiently. The Scrum Master will communicate and collaborate with technical, business process, and senior management teams while supporting continuous improvement, effective project execution, and strong cross-functional team dynamics.
Duration: 1 year contract, with ability to extend

What You'll Do
- Facilitate daily stand-ups, iteration planning, sprint reviews, and iteration retrospectives.
- Manage development projects of medium to high complexity and facilitate sprint releases.
- Create and analyze business requirements documentation and project timelines.
- Guide teams in time-estimating practices and facilitate team estimates.
- Drive iteration execution, communicate with management and stakeholders, protect teams from uncontrolled work injection, and ensure changes are evaluated and intentional.
- Manage project conflicts, challenges, and evolving business requirements to maintain high levels of operational performance.
- Work with team leads to resolve problems and remove project roadblocks.
- Provide indirect leadership to multiple project resources across various business functions.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- Lead team improvement efforts and define and implement improvement stories to increase program velocity and quality.
- Implement and support Agile principles, rules, and processes.
- Identify and proactively eliminate impediments to facilitate efficient workflow.
- Maintain team data in project management software to support project estimates and execution.
- Present high-level project readouts to senior management.
- Support cross-functional team dynamics related to priorities and scope.
- Apply advanced project management concepts and skills across multiple projects with related objectives.
- Lead large, cross-functional teams and foster effective collaboration between business and technology stakeholders.
- Coach teams on the implementation and effective use of Agile Scrum practices.
- Apply Agile metrics, including backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, tasks, and user stories, to analyze performance and improve sprint planning.
- Conduct postmortems and root cause analyses to support continuous improvement and maximize team productivity.
- Apply Agile methodologies and frameworks, including Scrum and Kanban.
- Communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and through email.
- Uphold accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, teamwork, and an inclusion mindset in all aspects of the role.
- Support and comply with Quality Management System policies and procedures.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Work on mobile devices, tablets, and computers and perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
- Travel between local locations as needed and travel approximately 5% of working time, which may include overnight or weekend travel.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or a high school diploma/GED with 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
- 5 years of experience working as a Project Manager and/or Scrum Master.
- 2 years of experience leading Agile sprints.
- Demonstrated competency coaching teams on the implementation of Agile Scrum.
- Demonstrated understanding of iterative and incremental development fundamentals.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Scrum theory, rules, and practices.
- Demonstrated leadership experience working with technical teams to assess and size stories and epics.
- Demonstrated understanding of Agile metrics, including tasks, backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, and user stories.
- Demonstrated ability to represent and effectively collaborate with both business and technology teams.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct postmortems and root cause analyses to drive continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated expertise in Agile methodologies and frameworks, including Scrum and Kanban.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
- Scrum Master certification preferred.
- PMI Project Management certification preferred.
- Experience conceptualizing, documenting, presenting, and selling creative solutions to senior management preferred.
- Ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Salary : $70 - $90
