Job Summary
Under general supervision, and following established procedures, performs a variety of technical radiologic procedures on pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, using standard, portable, Intraoperative fluoroscopy (C-arm) and/or specialized X-Ray equipment in order to provide information for physicians for the diagnosis and treatment of patients' illnesses and injuries. The major Focus will be on pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative spinal procedures.
Essential Functions
Explaining procedures to patients and answering questions.
Preparing equipment for use as needed, especially C-arms and portable radiography equipment
Preparing examination rooms for patient exams.
Positioning patients for imaging exams.
Monitoring patients during exams.
Documenting information with computers, especially assuring all pertinent required patient images and documentation are entered appropriately into the hospitals EMR and PACS systems.
Reporting important information to the physician.
Ensuring safety of patients during exams.
Producing diagnostic images of soft tissues.
Administering targeted doses of radiation to the patient’s body to treat cancer or other diseases.
Proficient in all aspects of sterile technique and working radiographic equipment in a sterile environment.

Minimum Education/Certifications
Graduate of 2-year AMA approved Certificate program or A.A.S. Degree in Radiologic Technology
Certification and in possession of a current NJ Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) license in Diagnostic Radiography and in addition The American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT Certification)
BLS CPR
Minimum Work Experience
Demonstrated competency in with a minimum of two years’ experience as an X-Ray Technologist with a focus on working in an operative suite and working in a sterile environment.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Must be willing to work holidays, weekends and provide additional coverage as needed.
