Requirements:As a Direct Care Worker, you will provide individualized support based on each person's Person-Centered Plan. Responsibilities include:
- Assist with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, household tasks, and organization.
- Support individuals in developing independence, social skills, communication, and daily living skills.
- Accompany individuals into the community for recreational activities, appointments, shopping, volunteering, and other meaningful experiences.
- Encourage community inclusion while promoting dignity, choice, and independence.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment.
- Accurately complete daily documentation, progress notes, and required records.
- Communicate professionally with families, supervisors, and care teams.
- Follow all company policies, Medicaid guidelines, and confidentiality requirements.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.
- Ability to pass criminal background screening.
- CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist individuals with mobility when necessary.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or behavioral health is preferred but not required—we provide training.
