What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinarian | Oconto, WI position at CareVet Health?
A practice with roots. A team that actually mentors. A place you might not expect to love.
Founded in 1990 by Dr. Paul Yatso — a Minnesota-trained vet who came back to his hometown and built this practice from the ground up — CareVet of Oconto Falls has been part of this community for over 35 years. That legacy matters. It means an established client base, a team that knows what it's doing, and a practice culture that didn't get assembled by a corporate playbook.
If you're a new grad looking for real mentorship, or an experienced vet ready for a lower-noise environment where you can actually practice well — this is worth a serious look.
The Location
Oconto Falls sits along the Oconto River in northeastern Wisconsin — small-town in the best sense, with fishing, kayaking, hiking, and a community that still knows its neighbors. Green Bay is a short drive away when you want a city. Most days, you probably won't need it.
If you've ever thought about trading the sprawl for somewhere quieter without giving up a career you're proud of, this is the kind of place people mean when they say that.
The Practice
Originally founded as Hometown Veterinary Clinic — a mobile bovine and companion animal practice — and operating out of a purpose-built facility since 2005, this is a practice with real history and a loyal client base built over decades. You're not walking into a startup. You're joining something established, with the backing of CareVet's clinical and operational infrastructure behind it.
