Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Component Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and experience with various technologies, including FPGA, PCB design, and system design. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and optimize components for our innovative projects.
Design & Development
· Design, develop, and test electrical and/or electronic components for use within machines and engine systems.
· Direct and participate in the concept and design of complex electronic components projects for release to production.
· Develop high-quality electronic/electrical component product lines that meet complex requirements and low-cost producer (LCP) targets.
· Develop, improve, and troubleshoot electronic/electrical sensor hardware used across engine and machine systems.
· Maintain and support current production hardware throughout the lifecycle, including obsolescence management.
Compliance & Standards
· Oversee compliance with development processes, industry standards, and regulations.
· Ensure products provide superior performance, durability, quality, and serviceability.
Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting
· Investigate and troubleshoot technical issues related to electrical and electronic systems and components.
· Identify and resolve design problems, providing robust solutions.
· Apply advanced troubleshooting and analysis skills to resolve complex development and field issues.
Supplier & Vendor Collaboration
· Negotiate with vendors for the development of systems and components.
· Partner with suppliers for manufacturing planning, process development, and delivery of production components.
· Support systems engineers in integrating components into various applications.
Engineering ExcellenceTesting & Validation
· Develop test plans (lab and field) for new electrical component designs.
· Conduct simulation, analysis, verification, and validation testing at component, subsystem, and system levels.
· Utilize lab test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and CAN communication protocol.
Simulation & Analysis
· Perform load and circuit analysis, design simulations, and calculations.
· Conduct FMEAs and apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
Software Integration
· Coordinate with software teams for embedded software deliverables.
· Participate in software development and troubleshooting activities.
Continuous Improvement & Learning
· Focus on quality improvement and cost optimization across product lines.
· Keep up with industry trends, emerging technologies, and breakthroughs through continuous self-learning and research.
· Complete projects with a strong focus on delivery and execution.
Qualifications & RequirementsEducation
· Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, plus 6 years of relevant experience.
· OR Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in the same fields, plus 3 years of relevant experience.
Technical Skills & Experience
· Proficiency in design solid modeling with parametric software, including database management.
· Strong background in design simulation, FMEA, GD&T, and circuit analysis.
· Hands-on experience with lab and field test planning.
· Familiarity with software development and troubleshooting.
· Expertise in using lab test equipment: multimeters, oscilloscopes, and CAN protocol.
