We are currently seeking Wound Care Nurse Practitioners to provide wound services to patients living in long-term care facilities.
WOUND NP ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide wound care services for long-term care patients residing in skilled nursing facilities.
- Prescribe appropriate medications, including controlled substances in accordance with Washington Law.
- Order, review, and/or follow-up with treatments and diagnostic testing.
- Communicate with the nursing home staff on a regular and as needed to discuss changes in condition.
- and/or the care plan.
- Collaborate with the primary care physician.
- Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of WA.
- Board Certification.
- DEA licensure (Optional)
- Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.
- Clinical background of wound care; including but not limited to chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds
- Must be comfortable with diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy Ulcers.
- Must be comfortable staging pressure injuries according to the NPIAP
- Must be familiar with wound care best practice and advanced wound care products; collagens, alginates, foams, silvers, etc.
- Must have experience with wound vacs and other DME, such as pressure relieving/ reducing devices
- Strong preference to having wound certification or be open to getting certified
- Experience working in a long-term care setting.
- Ability to work with an EMR.
- Ability to work within an interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care.
