We are seeking experienced EMTs to potentially enter into the role of Field Training Officers for dedicated Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT), to provide guidance in critical pre-hospital emergency/non-emergency care and long distance IFT/NET/GT transportation. The ideal candidate will possess experience in EMS, teaching, patient assessment and safe lifting/moving of patients within fast-paced environments such hospitals, urgent care, distance transport or dialysis settings. This role requires a strong commitment to crew/patient safety, excellent clinical skills, reliability, and the ability to work effectively under pressure in field EMS situations. This company is moving from Tennessee to North Georgia (HQ located on the Gwinnett/Hall County border) and plans to undergo fast expansion, to fill the need for ambulance transports in the North Georgia area. We are looking for staff who are able to adapt well to growth and motivated to field the needs of our expansion. We are building our EMS Academy to properly make our own employees and plan to open more stations in areas further North. Reliable and experienced EMTs are needed to help facilitate the rapid pace at which we expect to grow.

Duties

• Willingness to assist in the supervision of daily field operations
• Training and supervising immediate medical attention to patients in emergency situations, including trauma, medical emergencies, and critical care cases
• Supervising or performing thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations
• Willingness to teach EMT/EMR class and potentially receive an EMS Instructor license
• Instruction of BLS techniques and administer basic life support (BLS) as needed
• Utilize advanced skills such as venipuncture, medication administration, and injections to stabilize patients, per licensure
• Supervise and participate in the transport of patients safely to hospitals or care facilities while providing continuous medical assessment enroute
• Assuring aseptic techniques are maintained by all EMS staff during procedures to prevent infection
• Proficiency in PCRs & Documentation to accurately assist other EMTs in ePCR completion; communicating effectively with hospital staff upon arrival
• Assist with heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks associated with patient movement and equipment handling while operating the Stryker ProXT Power Stretcher, Stair Chair or Mega-Mover device.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and emergency procedures during all operations; disseminating safety information to other crew members

Qualifications

• Valid EMT certification with current licensure in the state of Georgia
• Valid driver's license with experience driving emergency vehicles
• Valid AHA BLS Certification (we renew BLS Certifications in-house, with no cost to employees)
• FTO/Leadership/EMS Supervisor experience is preferred, especially within hospital or inter-facility environments (Military backgrounds with a solid work ethic are valued)
• Proven experience in EMS, patient assessment, and vital sign acquisition & safe lifting/moving of patients is strongly preferred (new EMTs are unable to receive FTO positions for at least 6 months of employment)
• Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medication administration practices
• Ability to perform under pressure in EMS settings with excellent decision-making skills and integrity; looking after the well-being of crews and patients is extremely valued
• Physical ability to lift heavy loads and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team of healthcare professionals

This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the ever-expanding world of EMS; providing teaching and field supervision opportunities. As more stations are opened and we begin to acquire hospital/911/long distance transport contracts, our FTOs with strong leadership abilities will be offered higher positions as Station Captains, Dispatch Supervisors, QA Representatives etc.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Per diem

Pay: $ $22.00 per hour
