Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physiology observations, and medical history documentation to inform treatment plans.
- Administer medications, injections, IV insertions, and perform venipuncture with precision and adherence to safety protocols.
- Operate and manage Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and EMR systems to ensure accurate medical documentation and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Respond swiftly to medical emergencies by executing CPR, AED operation, and acute care procedures within hospital medicine, emergency medicine, or trauma center environments.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams in inpatient, outpatient, post-acute, or sub-acute care settings to optimize patient outcomes.
- Maintain strict adherence to state Nursing Practice Acts, health regulations compliance, and nursing policy standards while providing patient-centered care.
- Communicate clearly with patients’ families or guardians, especially in pediatric or geriatrics settings, ensuring they are well-informed about treatment plans and health status.
Skills
- Proven experience in Level I Trauma Center or Level II Trauma Center environments, demonstrating ability to handle high-pressure emergency situations.
- Strong background in hospital medicine, emergency room experience, or urgent care settings with knowledge of medical-surgical procedures.
- Expertise in infectious disease care and managing complex cases involving multiple comorbidities such as geriatrics or pediatrics.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation; familiarity with medical terminology and anatomy knowledge enhances quality of care.
- Skilled in IV insertion, venipuncture, medication administration, first aid & CPR certification; ability to operate AEDs confidently during emergencies.
- Knowledge of health regulations compliance including HIPAA and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
- Excellent patient assessment skills combined with strong communication abilities for parent interaction or clinical interprofessional collaboration.
