Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using proper manual handling techniques such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods.
- Monitor patients’ health status by observing your client, recognizing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately to healthcare professionals and family .
- Assist in administering medications .
- Prepare light meals.
- Support clients with home management tasks such as maintaining a safe living environment.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation.
- Assist with ensuring safety during client transfers using appropriate patient transfer techniques.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working as a caregiver in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group home settings.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely; experience using equipment like nebulizers is preferred.
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction .
- Experience working with diverse populations including with different cultures.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are necessary.
